QA Automation Engineer – Mobile/Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance our Android automation framework (Espresso/Kakao-Cup) to accommodate an expanding array of security products.

• Create advanced testing strategies to tackle VPN-specific challenges, including network-dependent workflows and testing in unstable or fluctuating connection scenarios.

• Collaborate closely with developers and fellow QAs to diagnose and resolve issues, providing comprehensive bug reports.

• Maintain QA best practices and play a key role in shaping the overall QA strategy.

• Actively seek out new testing tools and methodologies to improve the QA process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in automating UI tests for Android applications developed in Kotlin.

• Strong practical knowledge of Espresso and Kakao-Cup, with the capability to test interfaces developed in both Jetpack Compose and traditional XML.

• Familiarity with Robolectric and Mockito for test infrastructure and dependency mocking.

• Proficient in building and maintaining pipelines in CircleCI and utilizing Bash/sh scripting for automation and result analysis.

• Experience in sharding and parallelizing tests using Flank, as well as configuring device matrices within Firebase Test Lab or similar emulators.

• A solid understanding of the unique challenges involved in testing VPN applications, including network-dependent workflows and managing connection-state variability.

• At least an upper-intermediate level of spoken and written English proficiency.
