QA Automation Engineer – Mobile/Android

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance our Android automation framework (Espresso/Kakao-Cup) to accommodate an expanding range of security products.

• Develop advanced testing strategies for VPN-specific issues, addressing network-dependent flows and conducting tests under unstable or changing connection states.

• Collaborate with developers and fellow QAs to diagnose and resolve problems, providing comprehensive bug reports.

• Maintain QA best practices and contribute to advancing the overall QA strategy.

• Regularly investigate new testing tools and methodologies to improve the QA process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in automating UI tests for Android applications developed in Kotlin.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Espresso and Kakao-Cup, capable of testing interfaces created in both Jetpack Compose and traditional XML.

• Familiarity with Robolectric and Mockito for establishing test infrastructure and mocking dependencies.

• Comfortable in building and managing pipelines in CircleCI, along with using Bash/sh scripting for automation and result processing.

• Experience in sharding and parallelizing tests using Flank, and configuring device matrices within Firebase Test Lab or comparable emulators.

• Understanding of the particular challenges associated with testing VPN applications, including network-dependent flows and managing connection-state instability.

• At least an upper-intermediate proficiency in spoken and written English.
