Property Desk Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Responsible for managing losses and claims for property and casualty insurance providers.

• Reviews insurance policies and other documentation to ascertain coverage specifics.

• Conducts interviews, makes phone calls, and/or communicates with claimants and witnesses concerning claims.

• Consults police and hospital records, as well as inspects property damage, to evaluate the extent of the company's liability and employs various investigative methods suitable for different types of insurance.

• Estimates the costs associated with repairs, replacements, or compensation.

• Prepares detailed reports of findings and engages in negotiations for settlements with claimants.

• Recommends legal action through the legal department when a settlement cannot be reached.

• Attends litigation hearings as necessary.

• Updates case reserves in assigned claims files to reflect probable costs.

• Aids in the preparation of loss experience reports to assess profitability and to calculate appropriate future rates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

• Must obtain the IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months.

• A valid state adjuster license is required.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present effectively.

• Proficient in PC use, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

• Proven commitment to timely reporting of claims.
