This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate claim forms, insurance policies, endorsements, client instructions, and supporting documentation to assess coverage and identify potential exposure.
• Investigate, assess, negotiate, and resolve claims related to residential and commercial properties.
• Set and maintain appropriate loss reserves.
• Produce clear, accurate, and timely written reports.
• Draft settlement letters, coverage correspondence, denial letters, Reservation of Rights letters, and other communications related to claims.
• Oversee an assigned caseload while achieving productivity, quality, and client service goals.
• Ensure complete documentation of claim files, effective diary management, and follow-up activities.
• Review and supervise the work of field adjusters for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Analyze property damage estimates, photographs, inspection reports, invoices, and relevant documentation.
• Assess contents inventories, conduct pricing analyses, and compile detailed claim inventory reports.
• Carry out subrogation investigations and identify potential recovery opportunities.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, engineers, experts, and independent service providers.
• Negotiate settlements under the guidance of the Claims Manager or Supervisor, within assigned authority limits.
• Engage with clients, insured parties, field adjusters, and other stakeholders involved in claims.
• Log time and expense charges in accordance with client billing requirements.
• Maintain necessary adjuster licenses, certifications, and fulfill continuing education obligations.
• Adhere to regulations, company policies, client expectations, and service standards.
• Enhance and broaden professional and technical expertise through ongoing education, training, and industry activities.
• Offer mentorship and support to junior adjusters when necessary.
• Participate in special projects and execute additional assigned responsibilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• College coursework, an associate degree, or a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Candidates lacking prior adjusting experience must successfully complete Capstone’s designated adjuster training program.
• Familiarity with Xactimate or similar property estimating software is preferred.
• Previous experience in independent adjusting is advantageous.
• Experience with farm and agricultural property claims is a significant plus.
• Background in Excess and Surplus (E&S) property claims is a plus.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, all necessary adjuster licenses as required by state and local jurisdictions.
• Capability to work remotely during business hours in the Eastern Time Zone.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret insurance policies, endorsements, claim documentation, and technical details.
• Sound decision-making abilities are required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills are crucial.
• Ability to create clear, concise, and professional claim reports and correspondence.
• Strong organizational, workload-management, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a virtual setting.
• Proficiency with claims management systems, estimating software, Microsoft Office, and other business applications.
