📋 Description

• Collaborate with Tribal governments, educational institutions, community organizations, researchers, and project partners to co-create and execute initiatives centered on community-driven science.

• Organize interdisciplinary efforts that merge environmental science, education, workforce development, data science, and community involvement.

• Assist in the development of curricula, educational resources, workforce development programs, and experiential learning opportunities.

• Facilitate strategic planning that aligns Tribal priorities with research activities, educational programs, and project outcomes.

• Analyze, interpret, and integrate ecological, environmental, and multidisciplinary data to support decision-making and environmental management.

• Cultivate partnerships that enhance community capacity and promote sustainable, long-term collaboration.

• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, educational materials, and project deliverables.

• Establish and nurture relationships with Tribal governments, community organizations, academic institutions, funding partners, and research collaborators.

• Act as a liaison among project partners to ensure effective communication, planning, coordination, and execution.

• Manage partner involvement in community-engaged research and ensure partner priorities are incorporated into project strategies and execution.

• Promote culturally responsive engagement that reflects Indigenous knowledge systems, Indigenous data governance principles, and community priorities.

• Organize meetings, workshops, trainings, project communications, documentation, and reporting activities.

• Mentor and support students, interns, trainees, and other project participants.

• Contribute to ongoing enhancements and implementation of projects across various initiatives.

• Execute related tasks that support project objectives and operational success.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of two years of project management experience with increasing levels of responsibility and autonomy is required.

• A combination of relevant education and experience may be acceptable.

• Preferred qualifications include additional project management training, coursework in ecological sciences, computer science, or related professional development.

• Experience in supporting community-engaged, collaborative, or participatory research initiatives is preferred.

• Prior experience coordinating complex, multi-partner projects is also preferred.

• Familiarity with developing or facilitating educational programs, workshops, or trainings is advantageous.

• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams is preferred.

• Previous collaboration with Indigenous communities and organizations is preferred.

• Experience with workforce development initiatives and curriculum development is preferred.

• Knowledge of artificial intelligence, environmental sensing, cyberinfrastructure, or data science initiatives is preferred.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Strong project planning, organization, and coordination skills are necessary.

• The ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholder groups is essential.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities while working independently is necessary.

• Awareness of data governance, data sovereignty, and ethical research practices is crucial.

• Familiarity with learning management systems, educational technologies, and curriculum development tools is preferred.

• Willingness to travel frequently throughout the Western Great Lakes region is required.
