Project Finance Officer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and uphold comprehensive **activity-based project budgets**, ensuring they align with workplans and delivery timelines.

• Monitor project spending against budgets on a monthly basis, identifying variances, risks, and necessary forecast modifications.

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, the Program Director, and the Financial Manager to integrate financial contributions.

• Communicate with **client grant and commercial officers** (including US government representatives, etc.) regarding financial submissions, invoicing timelines, and contract adherence.

• Generate consistent **financial reports**, updates on burn rates, and dashboards to facilitate internal decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with donor financial regulations (such as US government, DOS, DOJ, etc.).

• Assist in operational planning, procurement coordination, and adherence to internal Business Operations procedures.

• Maintain thorough documentation, invoices, receipts, and financial records to ensure they are audit-ready.

• Contribute to enhancing financial tools, budget templates, and delivery processes.

• Offer surge support to other implementation projects as required across Eastern Africa and the Middle East.


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong **financial analysis** capabilities, including a solid grasp of cost structures and budgeting.

• Advanced skills in **Excel**, encompassing formulas, pivot tables, and the fundamentals of financial modeling.

• Experience in **project coordination** involving multiple stakeholders or remote teams.

• Previous experience engaging with **USG programming** (financial management, reporting, delivery processes).

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across delivery, finance, and operations functions.

• Capacity to work autonomously, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
