Product Engineer – Mid Level to Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Join a small senior team of three engineers, collaborating closely with me (CEO) to completely revamp the experience for agents that serve our users. Your work will reach millions, providing immediate feedback on its effectiveness.

• Handle AI features comprehensively. You will be responsible for the API, model orchestration, streaming UI, evaluations, and rollouts. There will be no handoffs.

• Develop agentic workflows consisting of multi-step agents that research roles, analyze career paths, draft bullet points, prepare for interviews, and negotiate offers. We aim for real agents, not mere chatbots with added retrieval capabilities.

• Create streaming interfaces that offer instantaneous responses, manage retries seamlessly, and degrade gracefully when a model behaves unexpectedly.

• Establish the evaluation system this team requires, incorporating harnesses, regression test suites, and latency and cost budgets. This will enable the next ten engineers to launch their projects without any friction.

• Build prompt and feature iteration infrastructure that allows us to A/B test new prompts without necessitating a full release.

• Engage directly with users through customer calls, support tickets, and user interviews. You will know your target audience personally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in deploying real LLM features in production, including tool usage, RAG, and robust agents that avoid silent failures. While years of experience are less important, we seek individuals with hands-on knowledge of multi-step agents and insights into effective orchestration patterns.

• Full-stack developer with a specialization. Proficient in at least one of React/TypeScript or Rails, and comfortable across both. Ready to address challenges wherever they arise without waiting for a hand-off.

• Strong insight into evaluations. You understand the challenges of lacking a solid eval system and possess a vision of what effective evaluations should entail, eager to build what's currently missing for the team.

• Proficient in using AI tools as a power user. Familiar with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, and able to deliver results 2-3 times faster than those who don’t utilize these tools, with the ability to explain your methods.

• Commitment to craftsmanship. You prioritize user experience, speed, and refinement. You advocate for changes when something feels off, emphasizing its importance over mere adherence to specifications.

• A strong bias toward closure rather than just action. You can tackle ambiguous problems and deliver tangible solutions, ensuring you complete what you initiate.

• Customer-centric approach. You are eager to communicate with users, analyze feedback, and participate in sales calls. The most effective features arise from attentive listening.

• Must be US-based; sponsorship is not available.
