Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the strategy, technical direction, delivery, and production quality of data infrastructure features from the discovery phase to rollout.

• Recognize user challenges related to blockchain data access, latency, accuracy, historical coverage, reliability, and operational visibility.

• Convert product and platform requirements into detailed specifications, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, implementation segments, and rollout strategies.

• Develop backend and data systems using Go and/or Rust, while engaging with databases, queues, object storage, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure as necessary.

• Design and refine workflows for indexing, caching, validation, benchmarking, and repair for extensive blockchain data systems.

• Employ AI-driven development methodologies to enhance research, specification, implementation, testing, and documentation while upholding a high verification standard.

• Work collaboratively with product, infrastructure, support, and customer-facing teams to gather insights, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure feedback is integrated post-release.

• Define and assess technical and product metrics such as latency, throughput, accuracy, freshness, coverage, error rates, reliability, and operational costs.

• Develop internal tools, benchmarks, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks to enhance the observability and manageability of system behaviors.

• Review code, specifications, and designs with a focus on correctness, simplicity, maintainability, performance, and production ownership.

• Conduct technical research and competitor analysis to identify pathways for enhancing data products and infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, ideally in backend, data, infrastructure, or distributed systems roles.

• Solid production experience with Go, Rust, or similar backend or systems programming languages.

• Proven track record of owning complex engineering projects from start to finish: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, release, observability, and iteration.

• Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, concurrency, queues, storage, caching, failure modes, and reliability trade-offs.

• Practical experience with databases and SQL, encompassing schema design, query optimization, consistency, and data quality management.

• Experience with performance-sensitive systems, including benchmarking, profiling, load testing, bottleneck identification, and capacity planning.

• Proficient in working with cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, observability platforms, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Hands-on experience utilizing AI coding assistants or agentic development workflows for complex engineering tasks.

• Capability to produce high-quality specifications, technical proposals, acceptance criteria, runbooks, and concise engineering updates.

• Strong product intuition with the ability to link technical efforts to user impact and measurable results.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
