Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Responsible for designing, implementing, and rapidly iterating on a distributed system developed in Haskell.

• Tasked with deploying this system across various cloud providers.

• Expected to integrate deeply with an existing complex platform.

• Required to meet service-level objectives related to load, uptime, data retention, and security posture.

• Maintain protocol and schema compatibility over time.

• Implement observability, tracing, and testing for all components mentioned above.

• Collaborate effectively with our design and operations teams to create an exceptional end-to-end user experience.

• Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster growth and learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in architecting complex systems that are robust, maintainable, and adaptable.

• Consistently capable of writing production-ready code for large and complex projects.

• Make data-informed design decisions that reflect the specific needs and characteristics of customers and the domain context.

• Comfortable with prototyping and utilizing data-driven design in short feedback cycles to gather insights and assess options.

• Possess strong opinions about distributed system architecture and can evaluate alternatives based on feedback from various stakeholders.

• Experience working within distributed teams and adept at asynchronous communication.

• Background in insurtech, insurance, finance, or related industries.

• Extensive commercial experience with Haskell or other typed functional programming languages.
