Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and rapidly iterate on a distributed system developed in Haskell.

• Deploy this system across various cloud platforms.

• Integrate thoroughly with an existing, complex platform.

• Achieve service-level objectives (load, uptime, data retention) while maintaining a strong security posture.

• Ensure protocol and schema compatibility over time.

• Implement observability, tracing, and testing for all mentioned components.

• Collaborate effectively with our design and operations teams to create an exceptional end-to-end user experience.

• Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in architecting complex systems that are resilient, maintainable, and adaptable.

• Ability to consistently produce production-quality code for large, intricate projects.

• Make data-informed design choices that address specific customer needs and domain contexts.

• Comfortable with prototyping and using data-driven design in short feedback loops to collect information and assess options.

• Have strong opinions on distributed system architecture and capable of evaluating alternatives based on feedback from diverse stakeholders.

• Experience working within distributed teams, with proficiency in asynchronous communication.

• Background in insurtech, insurance, finance, or similar industries.

• Significant commercial experience with Haskell or other typed functional programming languages.
