Product Designer

Posted 6 hours ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Serve as a product designer within a collaborative, full-stack product team, contributing to team-oriented outcomes and shared key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Oversee the design process during the discovery phase: from defining problems and clarifying tasks to formulating hypotheses, concepts, validating ideas, and delivering solutions.

• Convert intricate B2B services, device management, connectivity, billing, and operational processes into scalable user experience (UX) solutions for a web-based customer platform.

• Create user interfaces for dashboards, device lists, detailed device pages, traffic usage reports, service status monitoring, subscription management, billing, payments, and support-related workflows.

• Develop UX flows that assist business customers in understanding which devices are connected, their activity status (active or inactive), traffic consumption, delivery speeds, and associated costs.

• Design experiences for onboarding new devices, linking them to existing services or equipment, managing service plans, modifying subscriptions, and tracking request statuses.

• Consider the broader context beyond individual use cases or client requests, designing solutions that are applicable across various companies, industries, fleet sizes, service models, and operational scenarios.

• Extract common patterns from specific business cases to create reusable and adaptable product patterns for device management, monitoring, analytics, billing, and service administration.

• Challenge requirements and product assumptions by posing "what if" scenarios: what are the implications if a client has 5 devices, 500 devices, multiple locations, diverse user roles, numerous subscriptions, usage limits, billing cycles, or varying service states?

• Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, contextual inquiries, and workflow analyses to identify user needs, business logic, technical constraints, and friction points.

• Formulate hypotheses and validate them through prototypes, usability testing, analytics, and iterative feedback.

• Collaborate closely with engineers to grasp technical constraints, implementation logic, APIs, data availability, frontend limitations, monitoring protocols, billing logic, and system interdependencies.

• Produce clear design documentation that helps engineers understand not just the visual aspects of the interface but also the rationale behind its functionality.

• Utilize existing design system components and patterns, contributing to the enhancement of Kyivstar’s corporate design system when current solutions fall short.

• Leverage product analytics and qualitative feedback to assess the impact of design choices and enhance usability, efficiency, transparency, and scalability.

• Provide design quality assurance during implementation to ensure that the final product aligns with both visual quality and intended functionality.

• Optionally utilize AI-based tools, prototyping tools, low-code/no-code platforms, or vibe-coding methods to explore ideas, structure tasks, validate assumptions, or expedite design workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of product design experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or in a similar capacity, ideally within SaaS, B2B, B2B2C, telecom, connectivity services, IoT, network management, billing platforms, CRM, support tools, or complex operational products.

• Proficiency in discovery processes: ability to navigate ambiguous problems, frame tasks, identify constraints, develop hypotheses, and guide product direction before transitioning to UI execution.

• Systems thinking: capability to perceive a product as an interconnected system of roles, workflows, scenarios, permissions, configurations, devices, subscriptions, usage data, service states, billing rules, and business logic, rather than merely a collection of screens.

• Conceptual thinking: skill in transitioning from specific client requests to scalable, abstract solutions and effectively translating them back into tangible interfaces.

• Extensive experience in complex interface design, including admin panels, dashboards, tables, multi-step flows, configuration interfaces, role-based experiences, analytics views, billing flows, or products that involve heavy workflows.

• Understanding of B2B/SaaS dynamics: insight into how products function across different companies, teams, roles, and business processes, with the ability to design for multiple customer contexts.

• Expertise in data-heavy UX: capability to create clear interfaces for device statuses, usage metrics, traffic consumption, speed indicators, billing periods, payment amounts, service limits, alerts, and operational events.

• Technical comprehension: solid grasp of frontend development principles, including responsive layouts, components, constraints, data states, empty states, loading states, error states, and contemporary web interface logic; basic knowledge of HTML/CSS concepts like flexbox is advantageous.

• Collaboration with engineers: ability to engage in discussions about trade-offs, implementation complexities, technical limitations, API constraints, data availability, and product viability with developers.

• Research and analytics: experience with qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including user interviews, usability testing, workflow analysis, product analytics, and synthesis of feedback.

• Argumentation skills: proficiency in articulating and justifying design decisions, comparing alternatives, outlining consequences, and demonstrating why a specific solution is suitable.

• Critical thinking: capacity to question requirements, resist the urge to opt for the first evident solution, and consider edge cases, scalability, and long-term product implications.

• Familiarity with design systems: hands-on experience in using and enhancing component libraries; knowledge of structured design systems and Figma libraries.

• Tools proficiency: strong command of Figma and prototyping tools; capability to present design work effectively to stakeholders and developers.

• Effective communication: robust collaboration skills, comfort in Agile/Scrum environments, and fluency in Ukrainian and English.

🏝️ Benefits

• Flexibility to choose between office-based or remote work.

• Remote onboarding process.

• Performance bonuses available for all employees: either annual or quarterly, depending on the role.

• Opportunities for learning through the company’s library, internal resources, and partner programs.

• Comprehensive health and life insurance.

• Wellbeing program and access to a corporate psychologist.

• Reimbursement for expenses related to Kyivstar mobile communication.
