Principal UX Designer

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of UX design from start to finish for the Bluehost Group portal surfaces, including post-login experiences across various digital properties.

• Lead design choices from identifying customer issues to producing high-fidelity deliverables — encompassing journey mapping, interaction design, and a thorough handoff to development with complete specifications and annotations.

• Actively contribute to the Bluehost design system by creating reusable components, interaction patterns, and templates that can scale throughout the portal.

• Collaborate with Product Managers to assess low-fidelity prototypes prior to the high-fidelity kickoff, ensuring that design efforts are rooted in customer challenges and measurable outcomes.

• Facilitate design critique and peer review sessions, raising the quality standards across the UX team, irrespective of surface ownership.

• Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and customer experience research teams to create experiences that enhance activation, engagement, and retention.

• Guarantee that all designs adhere to accessibility standards, meet interaction quality expectations, and comply with the design system.

• Proactively integrate AI tools into your design process, employing AI for layout ideation, UX copy generation, component recommendations, and competitive analysis to expedite the transition to high-fidelity designs.

• Embrace and promote design-to-code workflows (Claude Design, Figma MCP, Cursor) while sharing reusable AI-driven patterns and experiments with the larger design team.

• Over 10 years of experience in UX/product design, with a robust portfolio showcasing complex logged-in or SaaS product surfaces.

• Profound expertise in contemporary design system tools.

• Experience in designing for web hosting, CMS, or products aimed at small and medium-sized businesses is advantageous.

• Strong systems thinker — you design patterns, not merely screens.

• Able to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed organization with numerous stakeholders and concurrent workstreams.

• Proven experience collaborating directly with Product Managers and engineering teams in an agile delivery setting.

• Outstanding communication and storytelling abilities — you can articulate design decisions to senior leadership with clarity and confidence.
