This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take ownership of the complete architecture for GM’s manufacturing Digital Twin & Simulation framework, encompassing plant models, AMR/cobot and equipment simulation, material flow, and integrations with PLM, CAD, MES, and data platforms.
• Establish and uphold enterprise reference architectures, APIs, and data contracts utilized across various plants and business units.
• Design scalable data schemas and pipelines for the ingestion and management of plant and floor data for both simulation and operational twins.
• Create modular, distributed simulation architectures that achieve a balance between fidelity and cost across cloud and on-premises environments (e.g., Kubernetes, GPU clusters, data lakes).
• Lead cross-functional, multi-team projects; unify teams and vendors towards common architectures and standards.
• Serve as the principal technical authority for Digital Twin & Simulation, providing mentorship to senior, staff, and principal engineers while influencing technical direction throughout GM.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of software engineering experience, including principal-level architecture or technical leadership for large-scale, multi-team platforms or systems.
• Extensive experience with at least one major 3D or manufacturing simulation environment (e.g., Unity, Unreal, NVIDIA Isaac/Omniverse).
• Demonstrated success in integrating systems across PLM/CAD, MES/production, PLC/controls, and data/analytics platforms.
• Proficient programming skills in C++, C#, Python, or similar languages, with experience in designing APIs, services, and data models.
• Familiarity with cloud and on-premises environments (e.g., Kubernetes, GPU clusters, data lakes) for high-scale simulation and Digital Twin applications.
• Preferred experience with manufacturing and industrial automation, including material-handling systems, AMRs, cobots, virtual commissioning, or PLC/HMI-driven digital twins.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter, Siemens Technomatix Process Simulate, or comparable manufacturing engineering tools.
• Experience with SiL/HiL setups, scenario-based testing, and CI/CD-integrated simulation workflows.
• Awareness of cybersecurity and data governance concerning connected factory systems.
• From day one, we prioritize your well-being—both at work and at home—enabling you to focus on achieving your goals.
