Principal Software Development Engineer – Frontend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• You are responsible for defining, designing, architecting, implementing, and delivering Slate software.

• You write and test system components, leading both code and design evaluations.

• You ensure the overall quality of code, including system tests, functional tests, and integration processes.

• You continuously seek to simplify processes, showcasing substantial innovation, creativity, and judgment when addressing complex challenges.

• You work in collaboration with UX and product teams to develop and create new solutions and applications that prioritize customer needs.

• You are regarded as a technical authority within both the technical and business communities and are often consulted for making challenging trade-off decisions.

• You promote understanding of the effects and implications of technical choices on the business, merging technical leadership with sound business judgment to make informed long-term technology decisions.

• You play a pivotal role in mentoring others, guiding individuals and the community on advanced technical matters, and assisting managers in fostering the career development of their team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.

• A minimum of 12 years of professional software development experience is necessary.

• At least 10 years of programming experience in a modern language, such as Java or C++, is essential.

• A decade of experience in full-stack mobile development – for Android/iOS or modern web browsers and services, primarily using Java in a Linux or Unix environment, is required.

• Over 10 years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of both new and existing systems is needed.

• A solid understanding of the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operational experience for at least 10 years is essential.

• More than 7 years of experience leading the design or architecture of both new and existing systems is preferred.

• Applicants must possess authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
