This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and enhance hyper-scale systems capable of processing millions of transactions per second by utilizing advanced sharding, event-driven architectures, and high-performance caching techniques.
• Lead architectural decision-making through Request for Comments (RFC) processes to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate across various teams, including engineering, SRE, and DevOps, to ensure that infrastructure aligns with application requirements.
• Actively contribute by developing proofs of concept (PoCs) for new technologies such as messaging systems or storage solutions.
• Define the system architecture for a microservices-based, cloud-native SaaS platform that integrates APIs, relational and non-relational databases, and AI-driven workflows.
• Mentor and guide senior engineers, promoting strong systems thinking, design excellence, and technical leadership throughout teams.
• Propel innovation in AI-driven architectures and assist in the advancement of intelligent, scalable platform capabilities.
• Assist with additional tasks or projects as needed to fulfill team and business objectives.
• Demonstrated experience in scaling platforms from thousands to millions of transactions within high-growth settings.
• Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, covering eventual consistency, idempotency, and distributed tracing.
• Significant architectural design experience (5-10+ years) in developing large-scale, high-performance systems.
• Excellent English communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels, from executive stakeholders to junior engineers.
• A hands-on approach with the capability to transition between strategic planning and implementation.
• Experience in cloud-native environments featuring microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with designing billing and rating systems, especially in consumption-based or usage-driven models, is a plus.
• Practical experience in integrating AI capabilities into production systems (e.g., APIs, intelligent workflows, or RAG-based architectures) is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimization at scale is desirable.
