Principal Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Presentation Pod and establish the technical roadmap for visual personalization.

• Integrate machine learning principles with UI/UX design requirements.

• Design and implement multi-armed bandit systems for artwork and marquee personalization.

• Customize carousel design types, presentation styles, and attribute arrangements.

• Leverage NLP and LLMs to enhance carousel titles and content descriptions.

• Create continuous experimentation pipelines that adjust traffic based on confidence and reward metrics.

• Collaborate with Content Engineering to utilize visual embeddings and computer vision signals.

• Enhance artwork selection, marquee personalization, carousel design, and title optimization across global streaming platforms.

• Conduct simultaneous bandit-based experiments to discover effective visual combinations in real time.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-8+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or applied science.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Multi-Armed Bandits, Contextual Bandits, Thompson Sampling, or Upper Confidence Bound algorithms.

• Demonstrated success in designing high-velocity A/B testing or online learning systems.

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Proficient in PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Experience with big-data processing using Spark or Databricks.

• Proven experience leading a technical pod or team.

• Capability to translate product and design needs into engineering specifications.

• Background in visual personalization, including artwork, thumbnails, or creative optimization.

• Knowledge in computer vision, covering OCR, aesthetic scoring, or image feature extraction.

• Understanding of reinforcement learning for sequential layout optimization.

• Familiarity with LLMs or generative AI for automated copy generation and title testing.
