Senior Deep Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Engage in the full modeling lifecycle, encompassing training, testing, and evaluation.

• Lead one or two key modeling initiatives from problem identification through assessment to implementation.

• Act as a senior colleague to the current research team.

• Provide constructive feedback, exercise judgment, and foster consensus on the next steps to take.

• Collaborate with football subject-matter experts on feature development and label accuracy.

• Guide mid-level engineers through mentorship.

• Develop the experimentation framework to enable the team to explore ideas more rapidly.

• Work closely with the research team on player tracking data, assessment, and forecasting models.

• Offer senior-level insights on modeling decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in deploying deep-learning models at scale.

• Familiarity with transformer, sequence, or multimodal architectures.

• Strong proficiency in PyTorch and PyTorch Lightning.

• Background in distributed training.

• Understanding of attention variants and debugging training dynamics.

• In-depth football knowledge, including catch probability, EPA limitations, route trees, and coverage.

• Senior individual contributor mindset with the ability to define ambiguous challenges.

• Strong instincts for model evaluation.

• AI-native approach to developing skills, loops, and tools.

• Keeps up-to-date with research, publications, releases, and innovative techniques.

• Comfortable being a leading voice among peers.

• Ability to communicate clearly with audiences outside of deep learning.
