Principal Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Data Platform team to engage in a mutual sharing of best practices.

• Implement standardized patterns and create effective abstractions across various machine learning pipelines to streamline existing processes and expedite the modeling journey from the initial business challenge to model deployment in production.

• Design horizontal solutions that enable the team’s machine learning models and processes to scale efficiently.

• Develop software utilizing Object-oriented Design Patterns and Analysis (OOA and OOD) with a focus on minimizing technical debt while ensuring high service availability.

• Engage in requirements assessments, design evaluations, and code inspections.

• Investigate and prototype innovative technologies to facilitate the rapid expansion of the business.

• Collaborate across different technical teams and work closely with data and applied scientists to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing iHerb’s platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient coding capabilities (e.g., Java, C#, Python).

• Experience in aggregating data from diverse sources using big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, BigQuery, Athena, etc.).

• Proven experience in constructing machine learning infrastructure while adhering to solid software engineering principles.

• Familiarity with contemporary software development tools, systems, and methodologies (design patterns, CI/CD, git, unit testing, smoke testing, integration testing, job schedulers, cloud technologies like AWS Lambdas and Google functions, etc.).

• Understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle.

• Proficient with messaging technologies (Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, etc.).

• Experienced with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

• Exceptional organizational skills with the capability to juggle multiple tasks.
