Principal Engineer – Software, Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage with complex technical challenges alongside some of the largest distributed systems globally.

• Make a significant impact on how engineering teams troubleshoot production systems.

• Contribute to the architectural development of a rapidly growing platform.

• Work collaboratively with highly skilled teammates and customers.

• Design and implement scalable backend services to handle large volumes of telemetry data.

• Create systems for the ingestion, storage, indexing, and querying of time-series and event data.

• Enhance the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of distributed systems.

• Team up with frontend developers to create clean and efficient APIs.

• Mentor fellow engineers and help elevate engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, Rust).

• Familiarity with AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude).

• Experience in building and managing highly available systems in a production environment.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Proficient in designing APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).

• A strong sense of ownership, capable of independently managing projects from inception to delivery.

• An effective collaborator with a cooperative working approach.
