• Define intricate networking platform solutions and lead a cross-functional team to implement them.
• Engage extensively and with focus through EVT, transitioning out afterward.
• Ensure that overall design quality metrics are achieved.
• Oversee a small supporting team, driving their goals and objectives within a broader collaborative environment involving Technology, Development, and Customer teams.
• Develop and sustain close technical relationships with suppliers and partners regarding product roadmaps and technologies.
• Lead the technical response for RFQ submissions.
• Deliverables encompass System Requirements Documents (SRD), compliance assessments, and technical proposals.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between Celestica and our customers, especially during technical escalations.
• Provide technical support to business development teams to aid in securing new business opportunities.
• Engage in the selection and recruitment of design team members as necessary.
• Identify and advocate for process improvement initiatives as required.
• Participate in standards committees and industry groups as designated.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers, industry groups, trade shows, and other relevant audiences.
• Stay informed about industry trends and future technological and market opportunities.
• At least 15 years of experience in network hardware design.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience at the system level in networking.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Proven experience in architecting and delivering network products to the market successfully.
• Outstanding customer presentation abilities.
• Ability to interface and engage with large OEM and hyperscale customers regarding ongoing product issues and new product design concepts.
• Extensive knowledge of current digital and analog components.
• Successful track record in New Product Introduction (NPI) launches.
• Familiarity with leading technologies in network products, including CPU devices such as Intel & AMD X86 embedded processors and ARM embedded processors.
• Knowledge of NPU devices, including all Broadcom families (Trident, Tomahawk, Jericho, Ramon), along with alternative device families such as Nvidia, Cisco, and Marvell is desired.
• Experience in high-speed design, including PCB materials, Serdes technology (224/448G), connectors, cables, and associated parasitic challenges in design.
• Understanding of network performance characteristics and related device optimization features.
• Knowledge of power devices, including multi-stage and near load delivery systems.
• Familiarity with advanced assembly techniques and challenges that affect design.
• Insight into optics devices and technology, including trade-offs and trends.
• Awareness of mechanical design challenges and flexibility as they impact architecture.
