• Lead the development of high availability and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring that RPO/RTO targets are achieved for our essential banking systems.
• Create and implement the scalability roadmap, which includes partitioning, sharding strategies, and capacity forecasting.
• Conduct in-depth query optimization, execution plan assessment, and proactive resolution of bottlenecks.
• Develop and oversee scalable inference and connection pooling strategies (PgBouncer) along with efficient backup and restore automation.
• Architect the monitoring system (Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics) and establish SLIs/SLOs to maintain database health.
• Apply banking-grade security protocols, encompassing credential management and compliance-oriented data handling.
• Collaborate with product teams to ensure that database schema alterations and architectural decisions facilitate a high-load environment.
• Elevate the DBA function by setting technical standards through mentoring, defining standards, and engaging in hands-on implementation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in high-load production settings (preferably within Fintech or mission-critical systems).
• Profound PostgreSQL Knowledge: Extensive understanding of index design (B-tree, GIN, GiST, BRIN), partitioning, and vacuum tuning.
• Mastery of HA/DR: Demonstrated capability in designing streaming replication, clustering, and automated backup validation.
• Cloud Proficiency: Practical experience with cloud-managed PostgreSQL (especially on GCP) and Linux systems administration.
• Automation Focus: Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD workflows (GitLab, ArgoCD).
• Strong SQL Proficiency: Expertise in crafting complex queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Observability Expertise: Experience in establishing monitoring and alerting systems for databases (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Proficient in English.
