Principal Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Assist in transforming intricate biomedical and clinical data into reliable decisions for drug discovery and development.

• Manage comprehensive analytical workflows encompassing target discovery, patient subtyping, and the exploration of multimodal data.

• Convert complex data science results into straightforward, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.

• Effectively collaborate with distributed remote teams to guarantee seamless communication and timely delivery.

• Design, implement, and enhance AI/ML models utilizing various healthcare data types, including omics, claims, and EHR.

• Perform multi-omic analyses such as RNA-seq differential expression, clustering, genomic association analysis, and biomarker discovery.

• Deploy NLP and LLM solutions specifically designed for life sciences datasets.

• Contribute to the enhancement and development of BullFrog’s in-house platform capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a quantitative discipline — biology, computer science, engineering, or related field.

• Over 5 years of post-graduate experience in life sciences analytics within pharma, biotech, or consulting environments.

• Proven expertise in Python; capable of writing production-quality code in a research or commercial setting.

• Practical experience with major healthcare data types — omics data is essential; experience with claims and EHR is strongly preferred.

• Practical experience in applying LLMs or NLP to actual analytical workflows, preferably in biomedical or clinical text extraction, summarization, evaluation, or retrieval.

• Established history of effective collaboration with remote teams.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
