Principal Cybersecurity Architect – Cloud & Infrastructure Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary cloud and infrastructure cybersecurity architect responsible for the BASE architecture review process, ensuring that security requirements are integrated early in the design of solutions.

• Evaluate and analyze technical system architectures for potential security vulnerabilities, control deficiencies, and compliance adherence.

• Provide approvals, conditional approvals, or guidance for remediation regarding architecture designs.

• Ensure that solutions are in compliance with enterprise security standards, policies, and target architecture principles and patterns.

• Promote consistency in the application of security controls across all architecture evaluations.

• Generate Risk Assessment Reports that detail threats and corresponding mitigating controls in accordance with GEV policies and standards.

• Implement Zero Trust principles across identity, network, application, and data layers.

• Define and publish reusable solution and security frameworks.

• Ensure the effective implementation of security controls (prevent, detect, respond) across infrastructure and platforms.

• Collaborate with solution architects and engineering teams to create secure, scalable, and compliant architectures.

• Integrate security controls into design patterns, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks.

• Publish and maintain enterprise-approved solution patterns to expedite delivery and minimize risk.

• Develop and enhance enterprise cybersecurity control frameworks, policies, and standards.

• Establish architectural guardrails for cloud services, infrastructure, and platform deployments.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, compliance, and enterprise cybersecurity requirements.

• Facilitate the incorporation of security governance into engineering and delivery processes.

• Function as a thought leader and subject matter expert in cloud and infrastructure security.

• Mentor and provide guidance to cybersecurity and solution architecture teams.

• Impact the enterprise-wide security strategy and architectural direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong emphasis on cloud and infrastructure security architecture.

• More than 5 years in senior or principal architecture roles within large-scale enterprise settings.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS and/or Azure security architecture, including landing zones, IAM, networking, and workload protection.

• Strong familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and its implementation across hybrid environments.

• Experience with architecture review processes, risk assessments, and security governance frameworks.

• Proven capability to define and implement enterprise security standards, policies, and patterns.

• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to operationalize security controls.

• Comprehensive understanding of security domains: IAM, network security, cloud security, data protection, and application security.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders.
