Principal Cloud Platform Engineer

📋 Description

• Act as the authoritative figure for cloud infrastructure within our enterprise data platform.

• Collaborate closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, and business intelligence teams.

• Design the AWS environment to facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout the enterprise.

• Lead design thinking initiatives, establish cloud strategies, and drive cloud transformation across infrastructure, platforms, applications, and data services.

• Advocate for secure-by-design principles, oversee vulnerability remediation, and set engineering best practices.

• Mentor, guide, and instruct engineers across the IT department.

• Ensure adherence to standards and procedures during the design and implementation of cloud and information systems.

• Serve as a liaison to business units regarding evolving needs and provide regular status updates to management.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in infrastructure or software engineering.

• 5+ years dedicated to cloud technologies, platforms, and transformation across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Proven experience in leading cloud transformation strategies.

• Practical knowledge of cloud security best practices, including least-privilege access, encryption, secrets management, network segmentation, and vulnerability remediation.

• Familiarity with DevOps/SecOps methodologies.

• Demonstrated capability to mentor and coach engineers.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Critical thinker with proven problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
