Principal Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the technology infrastructure across Platform, Data & Analytics, Development, End User Computing, and various cloud migration alternatives.

• Manage the processes, procedures, and strategies necessary for migrating and sustaining the company's cloud computing environment.

• Develop a comprehensive cloud strategy and oversee the adoption process.

• Design, plan, manage, maintain, and support the organization’s cloud computing environment.

• Track cloud resource usage, turnaround times for request fulfillment, application performance, and the security posture of systems.

• Assess cloud applications, hardware, and software as required.

• Create technical solutions for public cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

• Produce functional design specifications, reference architectures, and other technical documentation.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to analyze cloud service provider SLA, KRI, and KPI metrics.

• Work alongside Engineering teams to facilitate applications running on suitable cloud platforms.

• Partner closely with IT Security to oversee the company's cloud privacy measures.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience.

• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or its equivalent.

• A master's degree is preferred.

• Capability to address technical challenges within a complex stack that includes visualization, containers, and microservices.

• Familiarity with software development, engineering, programming languages, and relevant tools.

• Strong collaborative abilities and capacity to work across various functions.

• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate information to both IT and non-IT audiences.
