Principal Architect – Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Directly report to OpsGuru Leadership.

• Engage confidently in discussions about every phase of the technology adoption cycle, from the CEO to the developer, spanning various technical domains.

• Identify and implement strategies to leverage AI for enhancing infrastructure delivery and simplifying internal consultancy processes.

• Be assigned to multiple accounts, working closely with clients to become a trusted technical advisor in public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) Infrastructure and Data enablement.

• Provide thought leadership.

• Respectfully guide and challenge clients to ensure they receive maximum value from their technology investments.

• Oversee project teams to guarantee that technical outcomes align with resolving customer business challenges within project budgets and timelines.

• Collaborate with Engagement Managers to manage project scope and work with project teams and clients to handle project expectations and delivery quality.

• Participate in the sales process, typically in a pre-sales or similar capacity.

• Partner with our Account Executives and Presales Architects to scope and assist in creating statements of work for our clients, while also being heavily involved in account management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in a relevant information technology setting.

• More than 5 years of experience delivering professional services as a Principal Consultant or in a similar leadership role, concentrating on infrastructure and platform workloads on public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Experience in public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) Infrastructure Adoption or cloud migration in both enterprise and small to medium-scale environments (IaaS, Networking, Security).

• Knowledge of Data Platform/analytics infrastructure on public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Fabric, Synapse).

• Experience in microservices adoption on public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) (e.g., AKS, Azure Container Apps).

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code adoption (Terraform, Bicep).

• Expertise in cost optimization for public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) infrastructure.

• Proven experience using AI tools and LLMs to streamline workflows, automate repetitive architectural tasks, and enhance personal and team productivity.

• A background in delivering presentations to diverse audiences, including CxO and VP-level executives.

• Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects with a variety of stakeholders simultaneously.

• Sales experience, ideally in a pre-sales role.

• Ability to confidently model costs and articulate the total cost of ownership for various hosting methods on public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Experience managing customer requests and escalations.

• Familiarity with Identity Management and Active Directory.

• Capability to adapt communication styles to suit individual team members.

• Act as an ambassador for the company by articulating our business mission and values to customers.

• Provide honest and constructive feedback to team members.

• Show initiative in taking ownership of challenges faced by your team and seeing them through to resolution.

• Possess an instinct to ask probing questions for a deeper understanding of issues.

• Ability to build trust within your team and invest in developing professional relationships.

• Skilled at conducting gap analysis discussions and assisting team members in setting effective goals.

• Capable of inspiring and motivating others without resorting to micromanagement.

• Strong emotional intelligence and listening abilities.
