This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Define and take ownership of the long-term strategy and roadmap for ASME’s Digital Engineering Knowledge Platform.
• Drive the integration of ASME standards intelligence into CAD/CAE, PLM, MBSE, digital twins, and AI-driven engineering ecosystems.
• Create a cohesive digital platform that connects standards, learning resources, journals, technical content, APIs, and AI-enabled services.
• Implement interoperability protocols and frameworks, including MCP, ACP, semantic interoperability standards, and AI orchestration technologies.
• Develop ASME’s domain-specific AI architecture strategy that incorporates SLMs, LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and semantic retrieval frameworks.
• Lead the architecture for automated compliance validation, AI-assisted engineering workflows, intelligent standards retrieval, CAD/PLM/MBSE integrations, and AI agents.
• Establish Human-in-the-Loop validation frameworks that ensure trust, technical fidelity, and explainability.
• Set technical guardrails for AI usage, including hallucination mitigation and authoritative engineering interpretation.
• Collaborate with vendors and research organizations to assess emerging AI and graph technologies.
• Act as ASME’s senior technical authority for digital knowledge architecture and the transformation of AI-enabled standards.
• Define governance standards ensuring semantic consistency, relationship integrity, validation workflows, and lifecycle management.
• Set architectural and semantic boundaries for external vendors, partners, and AI providers to safeguard ASME's intellectual property.
• Work closely with SMEs, Standards leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Product, and Technology teams.
• Translate intricate AI, semantic, and graph concepts into executive guidance, board-ready communication, and strategic recommendations.
• Contribute to the future-state digital platform strategy, encompassing monetization, APIs, machine-accessible delivery, and multi-SDO interoperability.
• Proven expertise in designing enterprise-scale knowledge graphs, ontologies, semantic models, or AI-enabled information platforms.
• Capability to lead complex technical transformation initiatives involving both structured and unstructured data.
• Experience in defining governance and validation frameworks within regulated or technically demanding domains.
• Strong comprehension of interoperability standards, APIs, and machine-consumable information architectures.
• Ability to function as a strategic technical leader among executives, SMEs, technology teams, legal stakeholders, and external partners.
• Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in executive presentation.
• Preferred: 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, AI/ML Systems Architecture, Knowledge Graphs & Semantic Technologies, Data & Information Architecture, or Digital Platform Engineering.
• Familiarity with engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or standards-based sectors.
• Exposure to CAD, PLM, MBSE, simulation, or digital twin ecosystems is advantageous.
• Knowledge of graph databases, ontology frameworks, and semantic standards.
• Experience collaborating with AI vendors, research organizations, or emerging technology ecosystems.
