Principal AI-Augmented Test Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance the engagement model for AI-driven test automation projects.

• Customize and extend the universal rule and skill framework to suit various client setups.

• Provide guidance to senior stakeholders on quality strategies, improvements in the SDLC, automation maturity, and adoption of AI technologies.

• Lead the standardization of frameworks while considering the unique requirements of each project.

• Evaluate AI-generated outputs, such as code, architectural decisions, reports, rules, and testing artifacts.

• Swiftly identify systemic challenges, false positives, broken contracts, redundant logic, or inefficient implementations.

• Trace issues to their origins and establish corrective actions at the appropriate system level.

• Enhance the reliability and quality of AI-assisted engineering workflows.

• Establish principles and guidelines for effective AI application in test automation.

• Collaborate with AI coding agents and structured prompting techniques to refine engineering workflows.

• Continuously enhance prompts, skills, layered rules, and framework integrations.

• Optimize token usage and cost efficiency while ensuring high delivery quality.

• Take ownership of and advance a scalable Playwright + TypeScript automation framework.

• Design and maintain page objects, reusable page-element components, fixtures, selectors, reporting, and test data management systems.

• Establish and uphold rigorous test design standards and architectural consistency.

• Facilitate the portability and scalability of the framework across various engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript test automation architecture.

• Proven track record of building and evolving automation frameworks from the ground up.

• In-depth knowledge of scalable end-to-end testing design patterns and framework organization.

• Experience working with AI coding agents like Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools.

• Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to validate and scrutinize AI-generated outputs.

• Background in defining methodologies, playbooks, standards, or reusable engineering practices.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to operate in customer-facing advisory and consulting settings.

• Upper-Intermediate proficiency in English.

• WILL BE A PLUS: Experience in creating AI-native QA or engineering workflows.

• Knowledge of token optimization and AI operational economics.

• Experience in leading or scaling QA/automation practices.

• Understanding of SDLC transformation and quality engineering strategies.

• Experience in consulting or multi-client delivery settings.
