This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Direct the growth, operational efficiency, delivery execution, workforce management, and leadership of the AWS Platform Services customer execution team.
• Oversee Platform Architects, engineers, consultants, and delivery leaders executing AWS transformation initiatives.
• Convert AWS practice strategy and growth objectives into workforce, capability, delivery, and investment plans.
• Set up operational cadences for pipeline visibility, staffing, utilization, delivery health, capability enhancement, and priority setting.
• Manage AWS Platform Services personnel allocation, bench management, utilization, capacity planning, and staffing risk escalation.
• Oversee delivery portfolios through project evaluations, technical health checks, recovery actions, scope and schedule monitoring, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, margin management, utilization, and delivery risk oversight.
• Interact with customers when leadership intervention is necessary to realign expectations, address execution issues, or safeguard outcomes.
• Provide leadership to individuals, including coaching, performance management, career development, certification planning, hiring, onboarding, succession planning, retention, and performance calibration.
• Evaluate SOWs, staffing models, effort assumptions, delivery timelines, dependencies, execution feasibility, technical feasibility, and delivery risks.
• Enhance solution-to-delivery transitions through documented assumptions, acceptance criteria, and early engagement of the delivery team.
• Maintain a comprehensive architectural understanding across AWS platform services and advocate for the AWS Well-Architected Framework, security-by-design, infrastructure as code, automation, operational readiness, and cost-effective architecture.
• Achieve first-year objectives including staffing and utilization processes, project-health governance, SOW preparedness, development plans, bench conversion, certification alignment, delivery scorecards, and scalable AWS practice capacity.
• Extensive experience in leading cloud consulting, professional services, or technology delivery organizations with direct accountability for people management.
• Proven experience managing AWS-focused teams that deliver complex customer transformation initiatives.
• Strong architectural expertise across a wide array of AWS platform services.
• Demonstrated success in managing workforce allocation, utilization, bench management, capacity planning, hiring, performance, and talent development in a consulting environment.
• Experience in governing delivery portfolios related to scope, schedule, quality, financial performance, and customer outcomes.
• Background in reviewing or creating statements of work, delivery estimates, staffing models, assumptions, dependencies, and risk provisions.
• Capability to operate across technical, commercial, delivery, and people-leadership dimensions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for executives, customers, AWS, and delivery teams.
• AWS Associate level certifications are mandatory.
• Previous experience in a technical role is required.
• A consulting background is advantageous.
• AWS Certified Professional or equivalent advanced AWS certification is preferred; additional AWS specialty or professional certifications are beneficial.
• Familiarity with AWS partner programs, competencies, funding mechanisms, opportunity management, or co-sell motions is preferred.
• Experience in building or scaling practices across cloud foundations, platform engineering, security, migration, application modernization, data, AI, and cloud operations is preferred.
• Leadership experience with distributed or geographically dispersed consulting teams is preferred.
• Experience with enterprise or regulated-industry customers and complex multi-workstream programs is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
