Practice Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Responsible for achieving SD quarterly bookings goals and utilization targets for assigned accounts/regions.

• Collaborate with AE/SE, partner teams, and SD leadership to identify service opportunities for both new and existing clients.

• Scope engagements and create proposals and SOWs.

• Lead internal approval processes such as Deal Review and investment assessments.

• Accountable for creating and explaining bookings forecasts for the Book of Business (assigned portfolio).

• Strongly link service engagements to customer business outcomes (e.g., revenue growth, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and reduced Time to Value).

• Design and continuously review service delivery roadmaps for key accounts (from proposal to closing to execution).

• Manage project progress, schedules, and deliverable quality while collaborating with clients, system integrators, and technology partners.

• Early detection and escalation of risks/issues (scope, schedule, cost, quality).

• Serve as the primary escalation point, earning the trust of both customers and internal teams, leading guidance and decision-making in challenging situations.

• Conduct revenue forecasting and cost management (project financials) for each project, balancing healthy margins with customer satisfaction.

• Regularly present results, risks, and next steps to executive management through service reviews and executive reports.

• Collaborate with AE/SE to jointly develop medium to long-term account plans and Data Cloud roadmaps for assigned accounts.

• Design co-delivery/co-selling models with partners (SI/GSI/ISV, etc.), clarifying roles and responsibilities.

• Promote scalable delivery models, including SubK and Staff Aug models, particularly in Japan.

• Lead and drive process improvement initiatives across the SD organization.

• Standardize scoping/SOWs and develop templates.

• Simplify and risk-base the investment review and Deal Review processes.

• Utilize AI tools (e.g., contract drafting, SOW drafting, summary automation) for efficiency gains.

• Refine offerings (standard services).

• Catalog and deploy reusable assets/best practices.

• Monitor key KPIs such as utilization, bookings, consumption, and NPS, providing insights to PD and RVP.

• Delivery governance (QA reviews and health checks).

• Mentor and coach junior members.

• Promote the “PSD Seller mindset.”

• Collaborate with global Practice Directors and Practice Managers from other regions to share global best practices and provide local feedback.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Sales & Services Delivery or a comparable role.

• Experience in complex technical projects for enterprise clients (e.g., cloud DWH/data platform implementations, modernization, AI/ML implementations).

• Proven negotiation and stakeholder management experience with executives (CxO to VP level).

• Direct operational experience in data warehousing/BI/cloud sectors.

• Preferred project experience with Snowflake/other cloud DWH and public clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Track record of achieving numerical KPIs such as bookings/utilization/consumption in SD business or similar organizations.

• Strong business literacy and technical understanding.

• Ability to translate customer business goals into utilization scenarios for the Snowflake platform.

• Capable of discussing architectural/implementation constraints and risks at the same level as the technical team.

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across multiple departments (Sales, SD, Product, Marketing, Partners) and lead consensus building.

• Possess strong organizational skills and ownership, capable of autonomously managing multiple projects/accounts simultaneously.

• Experience in technical advisory roles such as Solution Architect/Technical Account Manager/System Administrator (preferred).

• Collaboration experience with partners in the Data/AI/Analytics ecosystem (SI, GSI, ISV, etc.) (preferred).
