Power Electronics BESS Field Technician – Energy & Carbon

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of integrated microgrid systems within LV/MV networks.

• Serve as the on-site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for power electronics, including inverters, converters, transformers, and protection/control systems.

• Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and safety training to engineers and field technicians.

• Commission and validate MV/LV infrastructure, encompassing switchgear, relays, and grid interconnections.

• Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis on electrical and control systems.

• Carry out preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on BESS, PV, EV, and LV/MV equipment.

• Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, LOTO, permits, and all regulatory and company policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a BESS technician.

• Practical experience with microgrids, BESS, solar PV, and EV charging systems.

• In-depth knowledge of LV/MV electrical systems, protection schemes, and power electronics.

• Demonstrated experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and field service within complex energy environments.

• Expertise in preventive and corrective maintenance of BESS equipment.

• Capable of interpreting electrical schematics, protection studies, and technical documentation.

• Self-driven, adaptable, and effective in dynamic field situations with minimal supervision.
