Pipeline GIS Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist clients with data management and quality control initiatives

• Oversee the maintenance of PODS and UPDM data models

• Create, test, and train users on data management workflows, processes, and procedures

• Manage survey and inspection data processing

• Keep pipeline centerlines and bulk-load data into databases

• Align data from In-Line Inspection and Close Interval Surveys

• Capture, convert, reconcile, analyze, and manage spatial and technical data related to pipelines

• Create, manage, and modify feature classes and spatial data

• Work with geographic projections and coordinate systems

• Automate workflows utilizing ModelBuilder and Python scripts

• Design and maintain geoprocessing processes for public datasets that support natural hazards analysis

• Develop strip-map alignment sheets and various map-format templates

• Conduct spatial analyses of inspection data that support corrosion growth assessments

• Create and sustain regulatory reporting processes

• Offer clients expertise in GIS integration, documentation, and implementation

• Produce technical writing for deliverables to clients

• Uphold Integrity Plus quality standards for deliverables

• Collaborate with leadership to enhance and maintain business workflows

• Execute other project tasks and responsibilities as needed

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in GIS, science, technology, or a related field

• At least 7 years of experience in GIS

• Proficient in advanced ArcPro and APR Google Earth (KML)

• Strong skills in advanced SQL querying

• In-depth knowledge of database frameworks using PODS and UPDM

• Extensive experience with GIS applications for pipelines, TVC, or As-Built

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities

• Capability to thrive in a team-oriented environment

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
