Personal Financial Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Provide support in short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios arising from military requirements.

• Deliver personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.

• Assist service members in creating a spending plan for prolonged absences.

• Develop and distribute informative financial materials for service members and their families.

• Organize and conduct various Personal Financial Management classes and workshops.

• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.

• Employ virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods.

• Manage duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.

• Liaise with leadership and engage in supervision and quality improvement committees.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required.

• Applicants with an associate degree and 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• Applicants with a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience is necessary.

• Candidates must be U.S. citizens and possess fluent English language skills.

• If required by the contract, candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation is required.

• Candidates must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

• One of the following certifications is required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
