This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary contact point for patients.
• Assist in patient admission to Mercy facilities.
• Arrange patient service appointments.
• Conduct patient registrations.
• Confirm patient insurance benefits.
• Perform pre-certification and financial clearance, including collecting payments prior to visits.
• Gather and accurately input patient information into medical records.
• Stay informed about various insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and guidelines from federal, state, and accreditation agencies.
• Interact with patients, medical professionals, hospital staff (both clinical and non-clinical), and insurance entities.
• Provide customer service that aligns with Mercy's mission, values, and service quality standards.
• A High School diploma is mandatory.
• Preferred 1–3 years of experience in clerical roles and customer service.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and various insurance plans is advantageous.
• Proficient in both oral and written communication.
• Demonstrates excellent telephone manners.
• Capable of building and sustaining positive working relationships with patients, healthcare providers, hospital staff, and insurance representatives.
• Must possess outstanding attention to detail.
• Knowledgeable in insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal, state, and accreditation agency regulations.
• Certifications: None required.
