Patient Access Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Welcome and support patients upon their arrival, offering information on wait times and addressing inquiries at the front desk.

• Confirm and update patient demographic information and insurance details during the check-in process.

• Manage walk-in registrations efficiently.

• Collect deductibles, copays, co-insurance, and other patient payments at the front desk.

• Organize follow-up appointments, including those for casting and measuring, delivery, and prosthetic care plans.

• Act as a liaison for clinic services, providing information about patient experience programs, support groups, and additional resources.

• Work in collaboration with the Revenue Cycle Management team to gather necessary patient information.

• Ensure that accurate and complete electronic health records are maintained for all patients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Less than one year of experience in customer service, administrative roles, or related fields is necessary.

• Experience as a receptionist or in medical front-office procedures is preferred.

• Must possess, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and adhere to Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy standards.

• Excellent interpersonal, oral, telephone, and written communication skills are essential.

• Ability to accurately type at a speed of 30 words per minute.

• Capability to work with individuals with disabilities.

• Familiarity with the Alpha filing system is required.

• Knowledge of medical reimbursement, terminology, and front-office receptionist duties is preferred.

• Proficiency in computer use, including Windows-based software and email applications.

• Ability to operate office equipment such as fax machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers.

• Preferred candidates should meet the job-fit standard set by the Talent Sorter assessment, which Hanger administers during the selection process.
