This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, colleagues, and referral sources through the coordination and administration of front-office tasks.
• Advise patients on their financial responsibilities following the verification of their benefits.
• Collect co-payments and cash for over-the-counter items, complete cash receipts, and manage bank deposits.
• Maintain precise patient records while safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support patient follow-ups and engage in quality assurance initiatives.
• Input patient demographics, verify insurance details, manage billing information, referrals, authorizations, and prescriptions.
• Handle multiple phone lines and create clear, concise, and accurate written documentation.
• Organize patient charts and documentation as per established protocols.
• Coordinate clinician schedules and manage coverage for appointments and out-of-office calls.
• Execute other assigned tasks and special projects as required.
• A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is mandatory.
• Preferred or required: A minimum of two to four years of experience in customer service, administrative roles, or related fields.
• A minimum score of 70 on Hanger’s Talent Bullseye assessment is required.
• Must possess, or be eligible for, a valid driver’s license and meet the Motor Vehicle Safety Policy standards.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, telephone, and written communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in typing at least 30 words per minute with accuracy.
• Capability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities.
• Familiarity with the Alpha filing system is required.
• Knowledge of medical reimbursement, medical terminology, and front-office receptionist responsibilities is preferred.
• Competence in using Windows-based software and email is necessary.
• Proficiency in operating office equipment such as fax machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers is required.
• Ability to act with integrity, prioritize patient-centered work, collaborate openly, innovate, and focus on achieving outcomes.
