This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Welcome and assist patients upon their arrival, providing information regarding wait times and addressing inquiries at the front desk or reception area.
• Confirm and update patient demographics and insurance information during the check-in process.
• Manage walk-in registrations.
• Collect patient payments, such as deductibles, copays, and co-insurance at the front desk.
• Organize follow-up appointments, including casting and measuring, delivery, and prosthetic care plans.
• Act as a liaison for clinic services, sharing information about patient experience programs, support groups, and additional resources.
• Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to gather essential patient information.
• Ensure all electronic health records for patients are accurate and complete.
• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Less than one year of required experience in customer service, administrative roles, or related fields.
• Preferred experience in a receptionist role or familiarity with medical front office procedures.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record in accordance with Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
• Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone), and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to type 30 words per minute with accuracy.
• Capability to work with individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of the Alpha filing system.
• Familiarity with medical reimbursement, terminology, and front office receptionist duties is preferred.
• Proficient in using a computer, including Windows-based software and email.
• Ability to operate essential office equipment, including fax machines, calculators, postage machines, and copiers.
• Preferred fit for the Talent Sorter assessment; Hanger will administer the Talent Sorter during the selection process.
