This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and manage assigned outsourced CDI engagements, which include both supplemental and fully outsourced programs.
• Contribute to the revenue and performance goals of Consulting Services.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with clients and vendors, tackle operational challenges, resolve conflicts, and guarantee the successful provision of contracted CDI services.
• Lead a team of CDI professionals through effective leadership, coaching, clinical documentation expertise, and continuous development.
• Track productivity, quality, financial, and operational metrics; pinpoint opportunities for improvement and implement necessary action plans.
• Direct daily CDI operations, encompassing workload distribution, performance assessment, goal establishment, and team accountability.
• Create and present focused education and training based on audit results, documentation patterns, quality improvement opportunities, and staff development requirements.
• Collaborate with client leadership, Coding, CDI, and internal Consulting Services teams to enhance workflows and boost program performance.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and CDI best practices.
• Foster employee engagement, professional growth, and career advancement.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution, completed and verified prior to employment commencement.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of management experience in acute care CDI.
• Possession of CCDS certification or a valid RN license with at least five (5) years of acute care experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• A Master’s degree in HIM, Nursing, or another clinical healthcare background is preferred.
• Ideally, 10+ years of experience managing CDI or HIM consulting or coding functions in a mid-to-large size acute care hospital, or 10+ years overseeing an outsourced CDI team.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, coding guidelines, and DRG methodologies.
• Familiarity with risk-adjusted methodologies such as APR DRGs, and quality-of-care metrics such as HACs and PSIs.
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical documentation, medical record coding, healthcare billing, and revenue cycle management.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, work autonomously, and deliver outstanding results.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for visa status.
