Oracle GoldenGate Solution Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and operationalize Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines utilizing Oracle GoldenGate to facilitate near real-time data movement across various platforms (e.g., DB2, Oracle → Snowflake, Kafka, Iceberg).

• Configure and oversee GoldenGate Extract, Replicat, and Trail processes across z/OS, distributed systems, and cloud environments.

• Manage and support GoldenGate environments (both on-premises and AWS), ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and platform stability throughout development, testing, and production stages.

• Monitor CDC pipelines and actively troubleshoot replication challenges, including latency, failures, and data consistency issues; execute necessary restarts, backfills, and replays.

• Collaborate with Database Administrators, Data Platform, Infrastructure, and Security teams to onboard new pipelines, manage interdependencies, and align with enterprise data objectives.

• Assist with comprehensive pipeline lifecycle activities: environment setup, configuration, testing, cutover, and post-production stabilization across multiple concurrent projects.

• Implement automation, observability, and CI/CD integration for CDC pipelines, incorporating logging, monitoring (e.g., Splunk), and standardized deployment patterns utilizing Terraform or similar tools.

• Develop and maintain runbooks, standards, and patterns to enhance GoldenGate adoption and minimize dependence on vendor support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate in enterprise settings.

• Profound understanding of CDC patterns, replication internals, and heterogeneous data movement techniques.

• Experience in supporting GoldenGate across z/OS, distributed systems, and cloud (AWS) environments.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting replication issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring data consistency.

• Experience with automation, observability, and CI/CD practices for data pipelines.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.

• Strong collaboration skills and the capability to work effectively across multiple technical teams.

• Excellent documentation habits and a disciplined operational approach.
