This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develops and provides students with an approved syllabus from DeVry University that adheres to a template set by the local campus, incorporating the terminal course objectives.
• Organizes, prepares, and consistently revises and updates all course materials.
• Utilizes suitable technological options for online technologies and course-related software, such as websites, email, and online discussions to prepare the course and ensure accessibility for students.
• Models effective oral and written communication that engages students, offers clarity, and enhances student learning.
• Establishes clear expectations for the course by publishing terminal objectives, assignment and examination dates, and the distribution weight of various evaluation categories.
• Ensures that the content and difficulty level of exam materials align with the course terminal objectives.
• Exhibits consistency and fairness in exam preparation and grading, providing timely feedback to students.
• Embraces and incorporates the responsible use of AI technologies in the classroom to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
• Demonstrates the capability to recognize, evaluate, and address appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools in academic work.
• Completes additional duties as assigned.
• Master's degree in health information management, public health, or a healthcare-related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Current Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) or Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification is required.
• A minimum of 5 years managing cancer registry operations, including case finding, abstracting, and follow-up.
• Expertise in AJCC/TNM staging, SEER Summary Staging, and collaborative staging systems.
• Experience with cancer registry software platforms and NAACCR data standards.
• Working knowledge of NCRA or CAHIIM accreditation standards and quality control procedures.
• Understanding of cancer surveillance reporting to state and national databases.
• This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.
