Oncology Authorization Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Accountable for requesting, following up, securing, and validating authorizations/referrals/notifications using the appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes, adhering to the required timelines for Radiation Oncology and/or Oncology Infusion.

• Responsible for managing patient flow, ensuring timely processing, and maintaining knowledge of practices utilized within the department/physician practice/hospital to address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Keep abreast of insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and the overall operations of the BHSF Revenue Cycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Associate's Degree with 3 years of experience in validating/obtaining authorizations with insurance payers, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Completion of Association of Community Cancer Center, Prior Authorization On-Demand Webinars within 3 months of hire, with annual updates required.

• Successful completion of the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and perform basic mathematical computations.

• Desired: Familiarity with healthcare regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to HIPAA, AHCA, and EMTALA.

• Knowledge of authorization guidelines specific to Radiation Oncology/Oncology Infusion.

• Understanding of insurance contracts, medical terminology, authorizations, and pre-certifications.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and EMR applications.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.
