Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assess patients’ functional capabilities and home settings to determine needs and safety issues

• Create tailored treatment plans and effectively communicate them to physicians and the healthcare team

• Instruct and assist patients in regaining daily living skills impacted by illness or injury

• Advise and train patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices

• Keep precise clinical documentation and promptly notify of any changes in patient condition

• Collaborate with the wider care team to ensure cohesive, patient-focused care

• Provide education to family members and caregivers regarding the patient’s treatment plan

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide services when OT is the sole skilled service

• Assist in discharge planning as patients move out of home health care

• Carry out additional responsibilities as needed for patient services

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association

• Active Occupational Therapy license in California

• At least 2 years of clinical occupational therapy experience

• Current CPR certification from AHA

• Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and capability to travel to patient residences

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
