Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess patients’ functional capabilities and home environments to determine needs and safety issues.

• Create individualized treatment plans and effectively communicate them to physicians and the care team.

• Instruct and retrain patients in daily living activities impacted by illness or injury.

• Advise and guide patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices.

• Keep precise clinical records and quickly report any changes in patient conditions.

• Collaborate with the larger care team to provide seamless, patient-focused care.

• Inform family members and caregivers about the patient’s treatment plan.

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide services when OT is the only skilled service.

• Assist in discharge planning as patients transition from home health care.

• Execute additional duties as necessary to enhance patient services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Possess an active California Occupational Therapy license.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of clinical occupational therapy experience.

• Hold a current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

• Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and the capability to travel to patient homes.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
