This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate cases, summarize relevant facts, and determine whether to certify or non-certify requested treatments.
• Produce written clinical rationales for California Workers' Compensation cases.
• Review, organize, and identify medical records pertinent to California workers' compensation cases.
• Ensure compliance with review timeliness and applicable standards.
• Achieve production and quality benchmarks.
• Conduct thorough cognitive performance evaluations utilizing standardized assessment tools and validated neurocognitive testing platforms.
• Execute occupational analysis to recognize barriers to mission-task performance and mismatches between task, person, and environment.
• Identify cognitive readiness risk factors, including sleep disruption, operational fatigue, stress load, and histories of mild traumatic brain injury.
• Translate findings from cognitive assessments into applications relevant to mission performance.
• Create individualized cognitive performance plans aimed at enhancing executive functioning, attention control, stress management, mental agility, and recovery.
• Facilitate group-based cognitive training and performance workshops.
• Implement cognitive rehabilitation protocols for operators returning from injury, illness, or cognitive performance decline.
• Provide coaching in training environments during operational tasks.
• Design and implement cognitive skills development programs that align with the mission demands of Special Operations Forces.
• Deliver services in both garrison and operational training environments as needed.
• Educate Service Members on cognitive resilience, fatigue management, workload optimization, and recovery strategies.
• Develop proactive initiatives to avert cognitive decline and performance degradation.
• Collaborate with the Human Performance team and Cognitive Performance Professionals.
• Engage in interdisciplinary case conferences, performance evaluations, and care coordination meetings.
• Provide guidance to leadership regarding aggregate cognitive readiness trends, risk factors, and mitigation strategies while adhering to privacy, confidentiality, and relevant DoD regulations.
• Undertake assigned special projects, which may include legal or general medical research.
• Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of experience in a consulting role within the specified function.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in cognitive rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, human performance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in at least one U.S. state or territory.
• Valid NBCOT certification.
• An active Secret clearance is required at minimum.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance within six months of hiring.
• Familiarity with tactical, military, elite athletic, or high-performance populations.
• Experience with neurocognitive testing platforms and the interpretation of performance data.
• Proven expertise in cognitive assessment and intervention strategies.
• Knowledge of operational stress, sleep science, fatigue management, and principles of performance psychology.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills appropriate for briefing senior leadership.
• Capacity to operate independently in dynamic, high-tempo settings.
