• Utilize specialized clinical expertise related to hospital partners: categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Ensure the accurate submission of all data into designated registries or measure data repositories, adhering to a high standard of accuracy.
• Effectively prioritize, organize, and meet tight deadlines for various simultaneous tasks and team requests; employs tact and judgment to manage expectations, identify obstacles, and suggest solutions promptly.
• Navigate new technical systems: electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools; leverage team resources to troubleshoot technical issues with systems and applications while focusing on solutions.
• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and other business rule documents; identifies opportunities for process improvement to enhance task efficiency.
• Stay informed on mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements as outlined by federal, state, payer, and other relevant agencies.
• Any additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Must possess an active SCR certification.
• RN credentials are required.
• Direct clinical data abstraction experience within either the NSQIP or NSQIP Pediatric registry within the past year.
• Familiarity with multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Direct clinical experience is essential.
