This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case details from intricate patient medical records.
• Guarantee accurate submission of data to designated registries or measure data repositories while maintaining a high standard of precision.
• Organize and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and team requests, adhere to tight deadlines, manage expectations, identify challenges, and propose timely solutions.
• Utilize electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools effectively.
• Resolve technical issues with systems and applications by leveraging team resources.
• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documents.
• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency and workflows.
• Stay updated with mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Recent direct clinical data abstraction experience within the NSQIP registry over the past year.
• Possession of active SCR certification.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Capability to synthesize data and offer insightful recommendations.
• High standards for precision and meticulous attention to detail.
• Technical proficiency and eagerness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and patient records.
• Clear and consistent communication with hospital partners, colleagues, team leads, and others.
• Excellent self-organization and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple accounts and adjust to changing timelines and priorities.
• Flexibility to adapt to modifications in hospital partner timelines, requirements, and project assignments.
• Responsibility for maintaining the security and confidentiality of PHI.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Direct clinical experience is preferred.
• Credentials such as RN, LPN, RT, or RCIS are preferred.
