📋 Description

• Oversee daily reporting on the prediction markets sector.

• Create and edit articles covering regulation, enforcement, launches, funding, and other relevant topics.

• Discover and generate data-driven stories paired with visual narratives.

• Submit precise, timely, and well-crafted content featuring compelling headlines and distinct angles.

• Edit news pieces, analyses, interviews, and opinion articles to uphold a high professional standard.

• Exercise sound news judgment, ensuring each story serves a clear purpose.

• Uphold editorial standards regarding accuracy, fairness, attribution, and integrity.

• Contribute to defining the NEXTPredict.io editorial style, tone, and coverage guidelines.

• Establish and nurture a robust network of sources within prediction markets, cryptocurrency, fintech, trading, regulation, venture capital, and policy.

• Cultivate trusted relationships with founders, executives, investors, lawyers, analysts, and regulators.

• Secure regular exclusives, data-driven scoops, and influential interviews.

• Develop concise explainers and “what this means” articles regarding intricate market developments.

• Translate regulatory filings, court cases, agency actions, and product updates into accessible journalism.

• Recognize broader themes underlying the daily news cycle.

• Implement news SEO best practices across headlines, metadata, internal linking, and taxonomy.

• Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to effectively distribute stories.

• Assist in increasing organic traffic, newsletter engagement, and audience loyalty.

• Represent NEXTPredict.io at industry events, including the inaugural World’s Prediction Markets Summit in New York.

• Provide support for event coverage through interviews, live reporting, agenda development, and post-event analysis.

• Work with the events team to identify speakers, themes, and content opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Based in the US, with a solid understanding of the US media, regulatory, and political landscape.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a newsroom, preferably with editing roles.

• Proven track record of breaking news, managing sources, and shaping editorial focus.

• Solid knowledge of prediction markets.

• Strong grasp of cryptocurrency, digital assets, and related sectors.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication abilities.

• Capability to articulate complex subjects clearly and accurately.

• Strong adherence to deadlines and comfort in a fast-paced news environment.

• Dedication to editorial integrity, independence, and brand safety.

• Nice to Have:

• Experience in covering cryptocurrency, fintech, financial markets, trading, politics, regulation, or emerging technologies.

• Existing network of sources in prediction markets, cryptocurrency, finance, gaming, iGaming, or sports betting.

• Familiarity with regulatory filings, court documents, and public records.

• Comfort appearing on podcasts, video interviews, or event stages.

• Experience mentoring reporters or contributing to the establishment of a newsroom.
