• Develop new functionalities and enhance existing code for VyOS, ensuring efficient and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with fellow developers to review and validate code modifications, test feature implementations, and provide insights on bugs, optimizations, and feature suggestions.
• Create technical documents, including solution briefs, datasheets, and graphic materials, specifically designed to address various networking scenarios and technical needs.
• Design, deploy, and configure network architectures utilizing VyOS and other networking devices to achieve project goals and performance metrics.
• Design and implement Proof of Concept (PoC) scenarios using VyOS, documenting configuration setups, performance benchmarks, and solution feasibility tailored to client-specific requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve network performance, security, and connectivity challenges, using advanced debugging and analytical tools.
• Investigate escalated technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and deliver reproducible solutions or comprehensive technical reports for development resolution.
• Conduct functional, performance, and regression testing for VyOS features and fixes, while creating and maintaining detailed test documentation.
• Develop and oversee automated testing frameworks for repetitive test scenarios, improving testing accuracy and efficiency.
• Enhance testing methodologies by introducing advanced tools and frameworks to optimize validation processes and results.
• Perform interoperability testing with third-party systems to ensure smooth integration of VyOS into various networking environments.
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base filled with detailed, technically accurate articles and solution documentation to assist internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Practical experience with VyOS or other open-source networking platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation and testing purposes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in intricate network environments.
• Experience in network performance tuning and adherence to security best practices.
• Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud networking concepts.
• Capability to develop and execute test cases for network functionality and performance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and teamwork.
• Strong analytical skills to assess packet captures, system logs, and debugging outputs.
• Conversational proficiency in Japanese.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in networking, system administration, or network security.
• Experience with VyOS, open-source network operating systems, or enterprise-grade networking solutions.
• Prior involvement in feature validation, troubleshooting, and debugging network-related matters.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V) and cloud networking (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience in conducting Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstrations and documenting technical outcomes.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks for networking products.
