This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise security technologies, which include Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Secure Web Gateways (SWG).
• Continuously monitor, audit, and maintain network security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure web gateways to safeguard the CWGS's IT infrastructure against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and other security vulnerabilities.
• Conduct thorough security assessments and threat modeling to pinpoint architectural vulnerabilities; spearhead the roadmap for essential infrastructure enhancements.
• Develop, implement, and enforce sophisticated security policies and procedures that correspond with global organizational objectives.
• Act as a technical mentor and lead for junior and mid-level engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and ongoing security awareness.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for intricate security incidents, directing forensic analysis and subsequent remediation actions.
• Actively research and incorporate emerging security trends and automation tools to optimize security operations.
• Offer insights and recommendations to enhance the company’s security posture.
• In-depth subject matter expertise in Firewalls (Palo Alto/Fortinet/Cisco), SD-WAN, and SASE/Secure Web Gateways (Zscaler).
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and auditing frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
• Advanced understanding of intricate networking protocols and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities, capable of managing high-pressure security incidents and providing strategic technical guidance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of conveying technical risks to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• At least 7–10 years of progressive experience in network security, with a solid history of architecting security tools and leading intricate incident response efforts in an enterprise context.
• Professional-level certifications are highly desirable (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCIE Security, or PCNSE).
