This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develop and uphold the security framework for the ISP core, edge, and access networks.
• Design and enhance multi-layered DDoS mitigation strategies utilizing scrubbing centers, flow-based monitoring (NetFlow/SFlow), and RTBH (Remote Triggered Black Hole) filtering.
• Strengthen critical network components (routers, switches, OLTs) and implement comprehensive AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) frameworks.
• Oversee the adoption of RPKI (Resource Public Key Infrastructure), BGPsec, and peering security best practices to safeguard against route hijacking.
• Promote "Security as Code" by leveraging Python, Ansible, or Terraform to automate the deployment of security policies across numerous nodes.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CALEA, GDPR).
• Serve as a Tier 4 subject matter expert during significant security incidents or advanced network attacks.
• Over 8 years of experience in network engineering, with a minimum of 4 years dedicated to security architecture in a Service Provider or large Enterprise setting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• Strongly preferred: CCIE Security, JNCIE-SEC, CISSP-ISSAP, or GSEC certifications.
• Capability to articulate complex security risks in business terms for executive leadership.
